Policemen heard whining from a trailer near Piding.

Therefore, they took a closer look at the van and actually found

half a dozen small dogs

in it, the police announced on Tuesday.

It was not the only terrifying find this weekend, however.

Two other vehicles were checked near piding and release.

The officers found four and seven puppies, respectively.

So a total of

17 animals

Transporting and selling most of them would have been illegal anyway, but the circumstances make the violations worse.
