Garbage collection will resume in the three districts of Marseille where waste had piled up for nearly two weeks due to a strike, after the conclusion on Wednesday of an agreement between unions and management, we learned from corroborating sources.

For 14 days, waste had accumulated in the 2nd, 15th and 16 arrondissements, with a total of some 120,000 inhabitants, usually served by Polyceo, a subsidiary of the Derichebourg group.
Management representatives, contacted by AFP, did not respond immediately on Wednesday.

According to the FO union, the management notably put the site manager and his deputy on leave until mid-January, whose transfer the union was asking for, and is planning an audit in January.
The interim will be provided by Emmanuel Brun, managing director of Poly-environnement, the parent company of Polyceo, according to Laurenr Casanova.
FO also obtained the recruitment of an interim agent, the erasure of all disciplinary files, an increase of 50% of overtime until the end of the collection of garbage accumulated during the strike, as well as the spread of days strike over six months, welcomed the union.
