A strong cold wave is coming, and the cold weather warning is now in effect. As we enter New Year’s Eve (31st), the weather has further cooled down.
As of 3 am, the Observatory Headquarters recorded 10.9 degrees Celsius, which was the lowest since the beginning of winter. The temperature in all districts of Hong Kong also fell to single digits, only 6-9 degrees, and Tai Mo Shan even dropped to -0.8 degrees.

In the early hours of the morning, the temperature dropped to single digits in many districts, about 7 degrees in Tseung Kwan O and Kwun Tong, about 8 degrees in Sham Shui Po and Tsing Yi, and about 7 degrees in various districts in the New Territories.
Tate's Cairn and Ngong Ping are only about 2 degrees, and Tai Mo Shan is as low as -0.8 degrees.

The Observatory predicts that the weather in Hong Kong will be fine and very dry today.
It is severely cold in the morning, with a minimum temperature of about 7 degrees and a maximum temperature of about 12 degrees during the day.
The northerly wind blows fresh to strong winds, and occasionally strong winds blow offshore and highlands at first.

Looking forward to the Observatory, the weather on New Year's Day and Saturday is still cold, fine and very dry.
There will be more clouds at the beginning of next week, and the morning temperature will still be low.
It is expected that another winter monsoon will reach the coast of Guangdong in the middle of next week.
