At least nine people were injured and nearly 200 evacuated on Wednesday (December 29th) after an overnight landslide in a small town north of Oslo, Norwegian police and media said.

Several houses were washed away early Wednesday in Gjerdrum, a town of 5,000 inhabitants 25 kilometers northeast of the capital.

Some 200 people were evacuated and nine were injured, but none are in critical condition, Norwegian media said.
Residents called the emergency services reporting that their entire house was moving, the head of emergency operations Roger Pettersen told NRK television, deeming the situation "
serious
".
