Amado Boudou, former vice president of Argentina.
(CNN Spanish) -
Argentina's Justice ordered that former Vice President Amado Boudou return to prison for the so-called Ciccone case, according to the brief accessed by CNN.
Judge Daniel Obligado revoked the former official's house arrest on Wednesday, after the Supreme Court upheld his sentence of 5 years and 10 months in prison.
However, the effect of the measure will not be immediate, pending the defense appeal and confirmation by a higher court.
This is the fourth time that the courts have ordered Amado Boudou, who was vice president during the last term of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, to return to jail, as confirmed by his defense.

Boudou was convicted in August 2018 of bribery and negotiations incompatible with the public function, for having taken 70% of the shares of the banknote printing company Ciccone Calcográfica together with several accomplices, in exchange for guaranteeing the rescue of the company on the brink bankruptcy, according to the conviction.
Graciana Peñafort, a member of the former vice president's legal team, confirmed that the decision on Boudou's house arrest will be appealed to the Federal Chamber of Cassation.
Defense attorneys have 10 days to present their arguments.
Peñafort added that this process could be resolved no later than February.
