Eighteen senior judges and registrars will declare allegiance to Rivlin, and later they will enter one by one and separately, due to the Corona's limitations, into the Presidential Palace.
The inauguration takes place about three weeks after the Judicial Appointments Committee approved the appointments of the judges and registrars, including Abbas Assi, who will be sworn in as a judge in the Jerusalem District Court.
The decision caused an uproar after a legal source told Israel Today that although "it is not wrong" to appoint an Arab judge, Assi, now a judge at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court, is for him "the most extreme person to be appointed as a district judge." Or the IDF, it rules in their favor compensation in the tens and hundreds of thousands of shekels, time after time. "
Three members of the committee, Transport Minister Miri Regev and MKs Osnat Mark and Zvika Hauser - boycotted the discussion that took place on the issue in protest of the election of Assi.
