A 22-year-old man will be tried Monday in immediate appearance for mortar fire on December 24 on the gendarmerie of Caucriauville, in Le Havre, the prosecutor's office said Thursday, December 31, specifying that he was placed in pre-trial detention.

On December 24, a vehicle passed in front of the Caucriauville mobile gendarmes barracks.
There were three individuals inside.
One of the three had come out through the sunroof.
Several mortar fire, at least two, targeted the gendarmerie,
”said Cyrille Fournier, deputy prosecutor of Le Havre.
A thirty-year-old gendarme who was leaving the barracks with his wife in a vehicle in civilian clothes, at the time of the shooting, lodged a complaint, added the magistrate.

According to the statements of the gendarme, the gunman aimed at the vehicle but without the mortar leaving.
The gendarme said that a mortar passed over the vehicle but the video recording did not allow it to be verified,

willful violence with weapons in recidivism and attempted voluntary destruction of the gendarmerie by an explosive substance

The suspect, who has several convictions in his record, some of which resulted in imprisonment, was remanded in custody by the judge of freedoms and detention.

The other two occupants of the vehicle have not been identified at this point, according to the same source.
