The Parole Board today (Thursday) postponed a retrial in the case of the late child murderer Oron Yarden, Zvi Gur, who is seeking early release due to his medical condition.

The committee's decision reads: "Since our last decision, about a year and a half has passed. The date of the prisoner's full release will be in 2025, we were in about 4 and a half years. "And half a year in prison is not enough to say that public discretion regarding public trust in the law enforcement system in cases of seriousness and in special circumstances, can recede and give way to rehabilitation considerations."

In 2019, Zvi Gur's request for early release was denied after the release committee determined that although he is no longer dangerous to the public, his conduct while in prison and his treatment of the offense he committed indicate that he is not worthy of early release.

Gore was convicted of kidnapping and murdering the boy Oron Jordan in 1980. He abducted the eight-year-old boy from his home in Savyon and apparently strangled him to death because of the noise.

Gore demanded a ransom of £ 2,000,000,000 from the boy's parents and even collected the ransom money.

Despite a sophisticated police ambush used against him.

He was caught after depositing some of the ransom money in a bank in the city of Rehovot.

In 1985, Gur managed to escape from Ayalon Prison and was captured only thanks to the vigilance of a citizen six days later.

In 1995, President Katsav helped Weizmann sentence Gur to 45 years.
