In April 2020, a nursing home in Be'er Sheva was a gloomy and sad place.

14 of its occupants became infected and died from the corona virus and the concern of the families of the other occupants skyrocketed.

About six months later, the atmosphere at the place changed.

In the middle of the past week, the lobby of the nursing home was covered with balloons, and after a long and difficult period, there was excitement and smiles were seen.

Residents of the nursing home had been eagerly MDA teams arrived to immunize them against corona. But not only the residents were relieved, even their families, who told of "hell" in recent months, find a glimmer of hope today after heavy disaster last place.

Ariella Label The daughter of Mitzi Packer, one of the residents of the nursing home, is now optimistic. According to her, the difficult isolation in which the residents stayed for some time made them feel very bad - parents and their families. "Started vaccinations on Tuesday, on the one hand there was joy. I have a sense of relief.

I'm afraid the second vaccine will not be in stock, so there is some concern.

I am very saved because of mom and I am meticulous.

The corn did a little harm to the mother, forcing them to isolate for long weeks.

They did not let anyone in, there was a distance from the grandchildren.

Her house became empty and it hurts, most of the time she was alone, it is a severe trauma for everyone.

They had to be vaccinated first, a sheltered housing home had to get the vaccines first. "

At present, there are about 140 residents in two wings, the independent wing and the nursing wing.

94% of the tenants were vaccinated and the staff members also received the shots.

Esther Halali is one of the well-known tenants in Mishan.

During the period of closure and isolation in the nursing home, she became a sought-after interviewee. During the days leading up to the vaccination, she was very hesitant about getting vaccinated due to the fear of side effects that might arise.

In the end she decided yes.

She now hopes that the difficult period that the tenants went through due to the social isolation will pass after receiving the second vaccine.

"I feel exceptional, very happy that I got the vaccine," says Esther, "I did it after some deliberation. I said to myself '90 years, whatever it will be 'and so I went to get the vaccine. Now I'm happy I got vaccinated."

She talks about the holiday atmosphere in the nursing home with the start of vaccinations.

"There was a big celebration here with balloons. The vaccines give us confidence, a lot of confidence. We were locked up for a long time. In three weeks they will come back with the second vaccine, and then I will get the green certificate.

Now that her mother has been vaccinated, Shlomit Halali can already relax.

The feeling of relief is well felt in her family members.

"A feeling of relief. There were very difficult dilemmas about whether to get vaccinated, she was worried about the side effects of the vaccine. The fact that the vaccines were given in the nursing home helped promote the decision to get vaccinated. Now my mother asks all nursing home residents to 'get vaccinated.' "She decided to get vaccinated voluntarily and in her opinion, she formulated her position regarding the vaccines alone and after some deliberation, she is our heroine."

"It was a time of hell"

During the Corona period some of the families demonstrated against the conduct of the nursing home and claimed that there was negligence in the care of their loved ones, the families of the deceased even filed a huge lawsuit against the place.

Zvi Fragment has been living in the nursing home for several years, and his daughter Mali Amioz was one of the leaders in the fight against the Mishan management with the outbreak of the corona and the life that was killed in the nursing home in Be'er Sheva.

Mali says many tenants felt terrible loneliness, which quickly turned into depression.

"It was a hell of a time in the nursing home in Mishan, now we feel hope after the vaccines, almost eight months have not come in to visit him, they feel lonely, they are locked in rooms for three months, some depressed due to the situation. "As good and happy as they were before. My father was excited to receive the vaccine, until the moment of the vaccine he was depressed, the vaccine instilled in him hope, in him and in all of us."

Her father, Zvi, got vaccinated yesterday and says that the first thing he wants to do after the vaccination is to hug his family.

"I feel good, I was vaccinated and I was not afraid, I felt good afterwards. The vaccine gives me confidence, that it will be possible to enter rooms and meet with friends and that family members can come and visit me. We hope it will be good. There is hope after the vaccine, without hope we are lost."
