A young man was seriously injured by bullets on Friday evening, in a sensitive city of Montpellier, after he allegedly tried to escape police control and failed to crush several agents, we learned from a police source.

After the events, which took place around 9 p.m., at the entrance to the sensitive city of Petit-Bard, the young man was transferred to the CHU Lapeyronnie in Montpellier.

The shootings took place during a curfew control operation set up at the entrance to the city of Petit-Bard, an operation led by a CRS company from Carcassonne.

Around 9 p.m., the young man, in a vehicle, would have first bypassed the first police filtering set up at the entrance to the neighborhood, failing to run over a first agent.

He would have continued without stopping towards the chicane set up by the CRS some sixty meters further, with two of their vehicles.

The injured driver was stopped just a few meters away as he tried to get out of his car.

Still from police sources, the CRS would have suffered stone throwing around 6 p.m., already at the entrance to this city of Petit-Bard.

It was following these first events that it was decided to set up a more complete system to control the application of the curfew in the neighborhood, from 8:00 p.m.

No member of the security forces was however injured, either during these stone throwing or when this driver tried to force the police blockade.
