The government will vote today (Friday) on the approval of the appointment of Chief of Staff Kobi Shabtai as Deputy Commissioner of Police and Gondar Katie Perry as Deputy Commissioner of the IPS.

The two are expected to be appointed as deputies and not as permanent appointments following a blue-and-white refusal to raise for approval appointments in the government, until appointments they request themselves are approved, including the appointment of the state attorney who the Likud refuses to put on the agenda.

In all, the paralysis in the parity government has led to some 60 permanent appointments being delayed for political reasons.

The appointments will be raised in accordance with the recommendation of the Senior Appointments Advisory Committee that approved the appointments of the two this week.

The committee unanimously approved Perry's appointment, while Saturn's appointment was approved despite the chairman's reservations, retired judge Eliezer Goldberg, who believed that "it is not possible to say categorically that no defect was found in his chastity."

"Unfortunately, this is a parity government in which a blue-and-white bloc has to approve issues on the government's agenda, and such approval is not given by them. "Blue and white to complete the permanent appointments to the two security bodies, which have been begging for this for more than two years," Ohana wrote to the ministers.

Dozens of appointments delayed

According to the coalition agreement between the Likud and Blue and White, a joint committee was to be set up to examine changes in the method of appointments, but the two parties have not been able to reach agreements on changing the method, and since July have been paralyzing each other.

Meanwhile, both parties refuse to complete the appointment procedures of any other party and raise them for final approval in the government.

In November, as part of a one-time compromise between Netanyahu and Gantz, the government approved a limited number of appointments, including the Accountant General of the Ministry of Finance and the Deputy Prime Minister's Office. And CEOs of four government ministries.
