The Pope of the Vatican, Pope Francis, renewed his call to find "quick solutions" in order to bring peace to Yemen, which has been suffering as a result of the Saudi aggression that has continued for nearly six years.
Pope Francis said in a message on the occasion of the 54th International Day of Peace, as media reported, "We think about the children of Yemen who cannot obtain food and we pray together for them," denouncing the continued targeting of this country and its people.
New data from the United Nations showed early last month that famine-like conditions appeared again in parts of Yemen and that nearly half of the Yemeni people suffer from high levels of food insecurity.
The Saudi regime has continued its aggression against Yemen since March 2015, using all kinds of weapons, which has caused tens of thousands of civilian casualties and massive damage to the infrastructure. The widespread siege imposed by this regime has also caused a great human tragedy and deprived the Yemeni people of their basic needs of medicine and food.
