Today, the Jordanian Ministry of Health confirmed the registration of three new infections with the new strain of Corona virus, which was recently detected in Britain, bringing the total number of infections with this strain in the country to five.
"The three new cases infected with the mutated Coronavirus were discovered after examining four samples that arrived at the Ministry of Health laboratories for people coming from outside Jordan," Agence France-Presse quoted a Jordanian medical source as saying to the official Al-Mamlaka channel.
Last Sunday, the Jordanian Minister of Health, Nazir Obeidat, announced the registration of the first two cases of the new strain of Corona, for two people who came from Britain on the 19 of last December.
The Ministry also announced the registration of 1,271 cases and 17 new deaths from the Coronavirus during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 567,592 and 3,851 deaths.
The Ministry renewed its call to follow preventive measures, especially wearing masks and not holding gatherings of more than 20 people.
