Baby Pit should have been delivered at home.

But the boy obviously didn't want to become a Marnbacher and spontaneously decided to be born in Tutzing.

  • Daniela Buschold wanted to give birth to her second child back at home

  • But little Pit was apparently in a hurry and decided not to wait until the expectant mother is back in Marnbach.

  • He was born in a doctor's practice in Tutzing.

Marnbach - Actually, Daniela Buschold wanted to bring her second

child

back to the world at home.

Everything was already ready

in

Marnbach

: wet wipes, swaddles, baby pads and whatever else she would have needed for the home birth.

But it turned out differently than hoped, the little Pit was born in

Tutzing

- a shock for the mother.

No labor pains over Christmas - but suddenly it starts

On Monday, Buschold went to see her gynecologist Edda Eberl in Tutzing for a check-up.

The examination date was deliberately set for December 28th - the calculated due date.

There was

no sign of

labor over

Christmas

or the holidays.

And even before the departure to Tutzing, according to Buschold, things were actually still going well: "I was a bit strange, but after labor it didn't feel at all."

To make sure that everything was okay with her baby, Buschold was connected to the so-called

CTG

, a contractions

recorder, at 9.25 a.m.

Until then, too, everything is calm.

But suddenly she went into labor.

"I was shocked," said Buschold when asked by the local newspaper.

The gynecologist found that the cervix was slightly open.

"But nobody expected that it would happen from now on," explained Buschold.

The trip to Marnbach or the Starnberg hospital would have taken too long

However, Buschold was not able to fully engage with the

birth in practice

from the start

.

Mainly because the mother-to-be actually wanted to go back to Marnbach to give birth to the little Pit there.

"I called my husband to pick me up because I could no longer drive myself," said Buschold.

But even together with her partner Robert Nolde (35), she would not have been able to be at home in Marnbach or in the hospital in Starnberg in time.

So Buschold had no choice but to call her midwife Theres Waldmüller from Pähl.

Shortly after the emergency doctor, who was called by the gynecologist Eberl but was able to drive again, Waldmüller arrived at 10:10 a.m.

Five minutes later came the father-to-be.

"I was already in labor pains, but I refused to push until my husband and Theres were there."

Midwife has seen many places in 32 years, but never a doctor's office

When Buschold noticed that she was no longer alone, she was able to get involved a little better with the birth.

At 10.41 a.m. the boy was born with the help of the doctor and midwife.

“We had to improvise a bit and wrapped him in tea towels,” said midwife Waldmüller.

It wasn't new to her.

It is normal as a midwife to have to improvise with home births.

After all, the 52-year-old Pähler has been doing the job for 32 years.

What was new for Waldmüller after such a long time was the place of birth.

"I've had a lot of places - including a construction trailer - but never a

doctor's office

," she said and laughed.

Daniela Buschold has now also come to terms with the birth in Tutzing.

“Sure, I was disappointed at first,” admitted the 36-year-old.

But she couldn't change the situation anyway.

“The main thing is that everything is okay with Pit and that he was born healthy.” And he did that with a height of 52 centimeters and a weight of 3360 grams.

On Monday lunchtime Daniela Buschold and her partner Robert Nolde were able to drive back to Marnbach with Baby Pit, where Bob (5) was expecting his brother.

And at home the burden of the spontaneous birth of Buschold finally fell away.

Because the maternity ward at the Weilheim hospital was closed, the care of expectant mothers in the district has "clearly deteriorated" according to the pregnancy advice of the health department.

A new part-time job is intended to help both pregnant women and freelance midwives.
