The romantic proposal ended in disaster:
an Austrian woman fell off a cliff 200 meters high after receiving a marriage proposal from a friend for life.
The 32-year-old woman was apparently in shock when she received the marriage proposal from her 27-year-old life partner last week.
Miraculously the woman survived the fall and was only lightly injured, thanks to the snow that stopped her fall.

Her partner, who tried to hold her, also lost her balance and fell from a height of about 15 meters, but managed to hold on to the edge of the cliff.
Fortunately, both were rescued after the woman was found lying on the ground by a passerby, who turned to emergency services.
She survived thanks to the deep snow in the place.
Her fiancé had to be rescued by a helicopter that reached the edge of the cliff to which he was clinging, and he was rushed to the hospital after being diagnosed with a fracture in his back vertebrae.
"The two were lucky - if there was no deep snow in the place it could have ended differently," said an Austrian police source.
