The deputy commander of 9900, Lt. Col. R., was agreed last week to be the head of the depth arena in the operations brigade - and will be the first woman in this position.
As part of its role, it will be responsible for the Intelligence Division's efforts against third - country enemy states, including Iran, in operational and diverse missions.
Lt. Col. R., 37, married and a mother of two, grew up in the Armed Forces and held a variety of positions.
She began her service in 2002 as an aerial photo decoder, became an officer and held various roles in Unit 9900, which is responsible for the worlds of visual decoding.
Later, R. served in several positions in the Operations Division.
She now serves as deputy commander of the 9900 array - helping to advance the unit in future challenges and adapt to the changing realities.
This week she was appointed head of the depth arena in the operations division, which she will enter in the coming months.
"I am proud and excited to be the first woman to fulfill such a significant and important role for the security of the State of Israel, a position that requires responsibility, the ability to cooperate and the right operational judgment in such a complex sector," said Lt. Col. R. after her appointment.
