Today, the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, and several governorates witnessed massive popular demonstrations to commemorate the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Forces, and their comrades in a terrorist operation carried out by the US aviation in the vicinity of Baghdad International Airport.
Since the early hours of this morning, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have gathered at the scene of the crime in a memorial pause, during which a monument to the martyrs and their comrades was unveiled.
The participants in the pause demanded revenge for the blood of the martyrs and the expulsion of the American forces from Iraq, while Faleh Al-Fayadh, head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, stressed in a speech he delivered during the sit-down on adhering to the approach of the martyrs and loyalty to their pure blood.
Also this morning in Baghdad and the provinces of several massive demonstrations condemned the heinous American crime of assassinating Soleimani and the engineer and demanded retribution from the perpetrators, planners and those involved in the crime.
The participants raised slogans calling for the immediate expulsion of the American occupation forces from all Iraqi lands, the closure of (the American embassy in Baghdad), the cancellation of all agreements concluded with the United States, and international lawsuits against those involved in the assassination crime.
The head of the Al-Fateh Parliamentary Alliance, Hadi Al-Ameri, affirmed in a speech that "the full national sovereignty of Iraq must be achieved and the American forces removed ... and this matter cannot be compromised, no matter the sacrifices," stressing "continuing to support the resistance and confront all projects of hegemony and arrogance."
For his part, Representative of the State of Law bloc, Adnan Al-Asadi, stressed in a statement to SANA's correspondent in Baghdad that Soleimani, the engineer and their companions are martyrs in the battle of confronting arrogance and confronting the American and Israeli enemy, and their blood and sacrifice will not be wasted, and he said, “Iraq that offered thousands of martyrs and wounded in its battle with takfiri terrorism will not It will be an arena for the implementation of the Zionist American plans that want to turn it into a dependent and exhausted country politically, economically and culturally.
In turn, the leader of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Abu Ali al-Muhammadawi, affirmed that revenge for the blood of the martyrs will be strong and decisive, and the Iraqi people will remain loyal to their blood.
For its part, the Islamic Dawa Party stressed in a statement on the occasion that the assassination of Soleimani, the engineer and their companions can only be described as a terrorist act in which the United States of America violated international charters, norms and laws and attacked a sovereign state, pointing out that the martyrs' sacrifices were for the sake of liberating the pure land of Iraq from The terrorist organization ISIS that has spread corruption in the land of Iraq through killing, intimidation and displacement will remain present in the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people.
