A KMB rollover accident occurred on Tai Po Highway three years ago, resulting in 19 deaths and many injuries. The car captain involved was sentenced to manslaughter and other 38 crimes in the middle of last year and was sentenced to 14 years in prison and fined for life suspension.
The female estate administrator of one of the deceased in the accident filed a petition in the High Court last Thursday (31st) against the car captain and KMB involved.
The plaintiff is Deng Fengkui (transliteration), the administrator of the deceased Wang Yulin's estate, and the two defendants are the car captain Chen Haoming and the KMB.
The complaint alleges that Wang died in a car accident due to Chen Haoming's negligence while driving the bus involved in the case on the Tai Po Highway on February 10, 2018.
The plaintiff therefore filed a claim against the two defendants, but did not disclose the amount of the claim.
Chen Haoming pleaded guilty to 19 counts of manslaughter and 19 counts of causing serious bodily injury to others by dangerous driving. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison in July last year and was required to suspend his license for life.
