Nine days after the start of the vaccination campaign against Covid-19, only about fifty people received the Pfizer vaccine in Paris.

Anne Hidalgo's first deputy (PS) sounded the alarm and asked the government to review its strategy to stop this "fiasco".

Discontent mounts against the slowness of the coronavirus vaccination campaign.

In Paris, where are we?

Emmanuel Grégoire.

We are very worried about the extent of the delay in this campaign.

According to the latest records, only about fifty people have been vaccinated in Paris.

International comparisons show that France has fallen dramatically compared to other countries.

To tell the truth, we are quite amazed, not to say frankly unhappy, with the progress of this operation.

Covid-19: centenary, politicians or caregivers ... EU countries have their first vaccines

Why ?

For months we have been working and offering to make vaccination sites available to allow a mass vaccination campaign.

We have proposed that the city acquire freezers.

We were told that the suppliers would not deliver to us.

We also proposed the provision of municipal nursing staff to speed up the operation.

Each time, we received an unfavorable opinion from the government or a non-response for the premises.

And for what result?

Today, nine days after the start of the campaign, only 516 people have been vaccinated across France!

It's a huge waste of time!

And what we lose now, we will never catch up.

It is a loss of short-term chance for the health of the French and it is to impose on the economy longer restrictive measures.

At the end of December, Anne Souyris, the Assistant in charge of Health, announced that the vaccination in Paris was to start in the 15 municipal nursing homes.

There was no vaccination in municipal nursing homes but a test phase in two and in an intensive care unit.

We have just been asked by the health authorities to start the experimental deployment in the city's nursing homes.

We are not asking for experiments but for massive vaccination!

However, today when we ask for vaccines, we are told that we cannot have them.

Are there no doses available?

We wonder: are the doses not available or do they not wish to entrust us with the vaccination?

We do not know.

Where are the 500,000 vaccines announced?

There are supposedly six national strategic centers and 130 relay centers.

That the government publish the list of these centers and how many doses of vaccine are available in these centers!

Do you doubt the fact that France has acquired enough doses?

Absolutely!

In any case, there is a need for greater transparency to understand.

Either the vaccines are not administered quickly enough because of a last mile logistics problem and in which case we can help, or there is in reality a problem of availability of the vaccine stock which requires the State to manage careful distribution of doses.

What do you propose to reverse the trend?

It would have seemed useful to us for town halls and departments to be able to pilot the vaccination strategy with the health authorities.

That was not the case.

The faults, now, that's enough!

It is time to correct the course and to work together.

Have you already identified places that could serve as vaccination centers?

We want to open a vaccination center in all the district town halls, as well as a considerable increase in power in nursing homes.

When could you open these “vaccinodromes” in the district town halls?

We are able to deploy them within 24 hours.

We could also multiply parallel and complementary channels with liberal doctors, pharmacists, municipal health centers.

We must not delay!

And it is better to vaccinate 400,000 more people, including outside the prioritization criteria, rather than leaving vaccines in gigantic refrigerators.

If tomorrow, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) validates your vaccination centers in town hall, where can you store the doses?

We are going to acquire super freezers, but there are already storage relay centers in hospital structures.

We could set up daily deliveries by collecting the doses in the morning from these centers to deliver them and use them the same day in the district town halls.

This is the only way to influence the vaccination campaign because otherwise it will not only be a fiasco, but it will be a lasting fiasco.

Are you ready to be vaccinated yourself?

As soon as I can, I will and I think everyone should.
