After five years of development supervised in its beginnings by Albert Uderzo, who died last March at the age of 92, the animated series
Idéfix et les Irréductibles
will see the light of day in September 2021. Produced in 3D under the leadership of Charles Vaucelle (
Oggy and les cockroaches
), the series, which will be broadcast on France Télévisions, includes 52 12-minute episodes.
Addressed to young audiences aged 5 to 11, it recounts the adventures of the famous little white dog two years before his meeting with Asterix and Obelix, in the album
Le Tour de Gaule d'Astérix
, the fifth of the saga.

Developed by Éditions Albert René, this series is produced and imaged by Studio 58, a subsidiary of the Hachette Livre group, in co-production with GMT Productions (Mediawan group).
Reconstruction of Lucrèce in 3D, creation of a hundred characters, Stéphane Bern as narrator ... the production did not skimp on the means.
The voice casting is directed by Luq Hamett

Marty McFly in
Back to the Future
…) which was launched by Roger Carel, the historic voice of Asterix, who unfortunately also died in September.

Among the new characters, young viewers will get to know Baratine, a cheeky gutter cat with a Parigot accent, Turbine, best friend of Idefix, who was abandoned by her old masters, Padgachix, a bulldog from Tolosa (Toulouse), standing out for his power or Asmatix, a very old pigeon from Lutèce, veteran of Gallic struggles.
Throughout the episodes, the public will find (or discover) Goudurix, Amérix, Abraracourcix or Bonemine, characters directly from the universe imagined in 1959 by Albert Uderzo and René Goscinny.
Faithful to the original work,
Idéfix et les Irréductibles
interweaves the adventures and humor so dear to the authors, as well as the puns that have largely contributed to its global success.
Taken over by Jean-Yves Ferri for the screenplay and Didier Conrad for the drawing, the comic series will feature a 39th album scheduled for next October.
It will be a “travel” adventure in which Asterix and Obélix will leave “
for an unprecedented destination
