Iranian nuclear project:

A spokesman for the government in Tarhan announced today (Monday) that the country has begun the process of enriching uranium in the Frodo nuclear reactor by 20 percent.

"A few minutes ago, the process began," spokesman Eli Rabi told a news conference.

Recall, last weekend the Atomic Energy Agency reported on the intention of the Islamic Republic to accelerate the nuclear project and return to the pre-agreement enrichment level with the powers in 2015.

The move is the latest in a series of Iranian breaches of the deal, which began in 2019 in retaliation for the United States' withdrawal from the agreement and the re-imposition of U.S. sanctions against Tehran and began about two months after the assassination of nuclear program chief Muhsin Fahrizda.

According to the Reuters news agency, this is the latest in a series of announcements by the Iranians about a breach of the agreement, from which it began to deviate in 2019 following President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw from the agreement.

The expansion of enrichment is expected to make it difficult for President-elect Joe Biden to renew the deal.

The NPR website reported that the agency stated that inspectors on their behalf "are in Iran 24/7, and have regular access to Purdue."

It was also reported that IAEA chief Rafael Grossi will report on "relevant developments" to the member states of the agency.

According to reports, this move by Iran is part of Iran's response to the assassination of Pharisees.

At the end of last November, the Iranian parliament approved the removal of controls from the nuclear program, and also allowed the enrichment of uranium to 20%.
