The Bogotá mayor's office decreed a strict two-week quarantine regime starting this Tuesday for the towns of Usaquén, Engativá and Suba, due to the high incidence of coronavirus cases.
The Bogotá authorities are concerned about the behavior of the pandemic since the first week of December 2020, and the increase in the occupation of intensive and intermediate care beds.

In particular, these three localities in the north of Bogotá that will enter quarantine concentrate 27.62% of active cases of covid-19 and experience an acceleration in the rate of infections in recent weeks, with an average of between 150 and 200 daily cases , according to the official note this Sunday from the mayor's office.
The quarantine implies a total restriction of mobility, the closure of non-essential shops, except supply sites, pharmacies and basic necessities.
Only one person from the family nucleus may attend these establishments, according to the order of the mayor's office.

Although home delivery by gastronomic establishments is authorized, in the quarantine in these areas of Bogotá the sale of alcoholic beverages during the weekend is prohibited.
The regulations, which will take effect this Tuesday at midnight until January 17, will be reviewed this Monday by an epidemiological committee of the Ministry of Health.
On Sunday, the health ministry confirmed 1,675,820 cases of coronavirus and 43,965 deaths.
