A pedestrian walkway in the Libertador municipality in Caracas, Venezuela, collapsed on Monday, leaving at least one person dead and three other injuries, according to Mayor Erika Farías.
The injured were transferred to the Miguel Perez Carreño Hospital in western Caracas to receive care, Farías reported.
Apparently all the injured were bystanders, according to the official.
Images captured by local media show the affected walkway without parts of its floor.
Also debris on the main highway of the Venezuelan capital.
Farías explained that what caused the collapse is being investigated.
«All the institutions that have to do with mobility, infrastructure, maintenance of works and services in the city of Caracas were immediately present.
The report is being made that will determine the causes of this strange event, "said Farías.
