France recorded 20,489 new cases of coronavirus in 24 hours, according to the latest data published on the government site on Tuesday.
These numbers are almost four times higher than the day before because on Mondays they are generally lower, due to check-in delays linked to the weekend.

The data also show 91 fewer hospitalized patients (479 new admissions to the hospital, 24,904 hospitalizations in total).
There is also a very slight decrease in intensive care, with 41 fewer patients (2,625 people in total in these departments).
In addition, there are 345 deaths in hospital, and 522 in nursing homes and medico-social establishments, bringing the total of deaths to 867 over the last 24 hours, or 66,282 since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
