In 1960, Hong Kong people worked an average of 2722.4 hours per year and 10.5 hours a day based on five days of work.

As of 2017, Hong Kong’s man-hours have been reduced to 2185.6 hours per year, which is nearly 20% less than in 1960, which is equivalent to an average of 8.4 hours of work per day.
