A septuagenarian, discovered dead Monday morning on the public road in Monfaucon-Montigné, near Cholet (Maine-et-Loire), was a victim of homicide, we learned Tuesday from the prosecution.
Aged 73 and a resident of the town, the woman was discovered on Monday shortly before 8 a.m. near a school, in public stairs, initially suggesting a death caused by a fall.

But the examination of the victim's body revealed several wounds caused by a stabbing weapon, probably a knife, during the autopsy carried out on Tuesday, the same source said. The time of death was set between 7:00 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. Monday morning, shortly before the body was found. An investigation was opened for intentional homicide and entrusted to the Angers research section.
