Tragedy on Route 75: A driver trying to escape on foot from police was run over to death near Migdal Haemek

According to police, the vehicle in which the victim was traveling, a 60-year-old man, was carrying fake license plates, and after being asked to stop at the side of the road for inspection, the driver started running and was hit by a car passing in the opposite lane.

His death was determined on the spot

A 60-year-old man was killed last night (Wednesday) by a car on Route 75, near Migdal HaEmek, after he tried to escape from police officers who wanted to check his vehicle.

According to police, the vehicle was carrying fake license plates, and upon stopping at the side of the road, the driver started running across the road.

A vehicle passing in the opposite lane hit him and medical crews who arrived at the scene were forced to determine his death on the spot.

The identity of the victim has not yet been clarified, as he did not carry any identification documents, and according to the police, he is apparently an illegal resident.
