Iran today (Wednesday) accused Israel of assassinating the head of the Iranian nuclear program, Muhsin Fahrizda, and claimed that it had "strong evidence" of Israeli involvement in the assassination that took place last month near Tehran.
Iranian Defense Minister Amir Khatami has sent a letter to 60 defense ministers from various countries around the world requesting that they defend Israel for its alleged involvement in the assassination of Pharisee.
"Iran has strong evidence of the Zionist regime's responsibility for the assassination. The Zionist intelligence services have a dark history of assassination of Iranian scientists," the appeal said.
Khatami praised Fahrizada in a letter, claiming that his achievements in science had aided Iran's fight against the corona virus.
"I call on the international community to abandon the double standards towards the Zionist regime, and in the context of the fight against global terrorism, to condemn the criminal, illegal and inhumane act that was carried out," the minister wrote.
Khatami hinted that the lack of response from the international community would lead to an Iranian response and undermine stability and security in the region and around the world.
"We reserve the right to punish those responsible for ordering and carrying out this criminal conspiracy against our people," Khatami added.
Meanwhile, the commander of the Iranian Quds Force, Ismail Kaani, today threatened to hit the United States "at home" in retaliation for the assassination of his predecessor, General Qassem Suleimani, a little over a year ago in Baghdad.
In a speech at the conference in memory of Suleimani, the senior official addressed the Americans and said, "Your defeat has already begun. You can not be calmer even in your own homes. It is not unlikely that our response will harm the United States itself."
