Under the nose of the SAG:

During the night (Tuesday), a reserve soldier's vehicle was stolen from a fenced parking lot near the gate of the Tze'elim base in the south.

Near the gate of the base: theft of a vehicle by a reservist from Tze'elim

As documented in the video from the security camera, the vehicle was towed by a pickup truck that entered the parking lot in the dead of night.

This is a parking lot used by the reservists who come to the base for routine training.

Due to the scourge of thefts in the area, a few years ago the parking lot was surrounded by a high fence with barbed wire, and entry is made through only one gate.

The gate is close to the guard post at the entrance to the base, and within sight of the guards - and yet the thieves managed to get their hands on the vehicle.

During the morning, the vehicle was in the area with the help of locating equipment installed in it and towed to the Ofakim police station.

The owner of the car, Sharon Amsalem, tells "Israel Today": "I was in the field in the middle of training. Coordinating in the middle of the night, they call me and say that the car was stolen. "On the parking lot properly. What have we asked for?"

The event joins a painful and familiar phenomenon.

As you may recall, about a week ago, close to 100,000 M16 bullets were stolen from the ammunition bunker at Tze'elim base.

Soldiers also regularly report thefts of personal equipment from the base area.

Last summer, the commander of the Tze'elim base ordered "not to chase thieves" - this following an incident in which officers who chased thieves in the field got into a confrontation with Bedouin from the village of Bir Hadaj.

The response of the police and the army has not yet been received and it will be published immediately when it is received.
