Ben-Gurion University announced today (Wednesday) that a cyber hack has been identified for some of its servants.
The incident was identified as part of periodic scans conducted by the university in collaboration with the National Cyber Network.
At this point the university continues to work as usual except for spot difficulties and no significant damage to servers is known, but the issue continues to be examined.
Once the breakthrough was discovered, a combined team of researchers from the National Cyber Array and the Division of Technologies, Innovation and Digital at Ben-Gurion University was established.
The combined team immediately conducted a series of actions to try to prevent information leakage and is currently working to contain the incident and minimize its damage as much as possible.
At the same time, the team conducts a thorough scan of all university servers to check for further intrusions as well as to examine the protections for computing services and servers.
