A police vehicle was set on fire last night (Wednesday) in the Yamat Tel Hai neighborhood in Kiryat Shmona and a grenade was thrown at a nearby vehicle.

This is the fourth time in the last week that a police vehicle has been set on fire in the north, when three police vehicles were set on fire near police houses in Safed, Hatzor HaGlilit and Yesod HaMaala.

According to the suspicion, the arson and those that preceded it, were carried out by criminal organizations in response to police activity against them.

Police said that upon receiving a report at Hotline 100, police officers rushed to the scene, collected findings and opened an investigation which revealed that it was a police vehicle that had been set on fire and that a vehicle parked next to it had been damaged by a thrown grenade.

The police further stated that "according to the suspicion, this incident, as well as other injuries to police vehicles in recent weeks was carried out against the background of the Israeli police's fight against extortion in the northern communities which led to arrests, foreclosures and seizures of criminals in the north."

A resident of the neighborhood who lived nearby said that from the burning of the car there was a loud noise of an explosion.

"I was sure it was a Katyusha fall and we were already preparing to enter the dimension. But then we saw that it was a vehicle on fire. This is a real war of the criminal world. Hopefully the new factory will put an end to it. It is already really excessive."

"Prepared for a powerful and stubborn struggle."

The vehicle was set on fire on Sunday

On Friday night, two police vehicles caught fire in Safed and Hatzor HaGlilit.

Also on Sunday, a police vehicle was set on fire in Yesod HaMa'aleh. Park next to the mobile. Police forces and fire investigators from the fire brigade are investigating the case.

To whom will they sell their homes?

"They are forced to stay and suffer and see the helplessness of the country, and meanwhile their children are growing up in a reality where the heroes are the criminals who walk around with the luxury cars."
