The National Judges' Representation today (Wednesday) addressed the President of the Supreme Court, Esther Hayut, and the Director of the Courts, Justice Yigal Marzel, and asked to reduce the activities of the courts during the closure.

Spokesmen for the administration of the courts refused to comment on Walla!

NEWS on the subject.

Apart from the judges, the Bar Association is threatening to appeal to the High Court to force the Minister of Justice, Bnei Gantz, to reduce the activities of the courts to an emergency during the closure. Tomorrow morning a meeting is planned between Gantz and the head of the chamber, Adv. Of the bureau, where attorneys will decide how to act.

A letter sent this evening by the Bureau to Gantz states that his position to keep the courts open as usual is unreasonable, and even based on foreign considerations.

They referred to Ganz's tweet today on Twitter, in which he responded to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's request to postpone the hearing, in response to his indictment next week.

Ganz responded: "Netanyahu is not worried. The courts will remain open - on me."

"The only consideration in the position and the requirement to keep the activities of the court system as a series is in the political struggle and I want to ensure that the prime minister's trial is timely," the bureau wrote, through attorney David Yitzhak. It can also be used as a basis for making a decision regarding the scope of the restrictions in the closure. "The

Bar Association also stated that" the personal political struggle between you and the Prime Minister can not be a justification for leaving the court system as a series while placing tens of thousands of lawyers Prime Minister".

Earlier today, hundreds of lawyers wrote a letter to Supreme Court President Esther Hayut and the director of the courts, Justice Yigal Marzel, threatening to strike if the courts do not proceed with a leave procedure, in which only urgent hearings will take place.

"The conduct of some of the judges is a strict adherence to a reasonable number of litigants inside the courtroom, while outside the courtroom there are dozens of people who are forced to gather in the hallway," the lawyers wrote.

"In other cases there is no strictness even inside the courtroom, and sometimes there are even extreme cases of judges insisting on refusing requests to cancel hearings, which by definition should have more than 30 people."

The letter noted a hearing held yesterday in which 31 people were present, as well as attached pictures showing many people in the corridors of the Magistrate's Court in Petah Tikva this morning.

"As long as no leave procedure is declared, and the courts continue to set dates for non-detention hearings and there is no need to conduct them during the closure, we intend to strike and not attend non-detention hearings, in order to protect our lives and the lives of our family members," it said.

"It is not superfluous that some of us are in risk groups, and some of us have family members who are in the risk group. Our blood is not the no man's land," the lawyers added in their plague to live.

The chairman of the Bar Association, Adv. Orit Korin, expressed support for the transition to a format of only urgent court hearings during the closure period.

"We are committed to the health of attorneys, there is an extreme increase in morbidity and therefore there is no escape from switching to an emergency format, hoping that restrictions and vaccinations will lead to a return to a rapid routine."
