Several senior advisers to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have expressed concern in private talks about the impact that Obama administration officials, including former US Secretary of State John Kerry and former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, will have on incoming President Joe Biden's policy on Iran.

Israel's outgoing ambassador to Washington, Ron Drummer, one of Netanyahu's closest people, told several of his interlocutors in Washington that he was concerned that Kerry and Rice could influence Biden's foreign policy - according to an Israeli and American source.

Drummer chose not to comment.

At the same time, National Security Office officials in the Prime Minister's Office also expressed concern in closed-door talks about the impact of the "Obama people" on Biden's policies.

One of Netanyahu's advisers said he was also worried about Kerry and Rice, but especially about the appointment of Wendy Sherman as deputy foreign minister.

Sherman chaired former President Barack Obama's negotiating team for talks on the nuclear deal with Iran.

A senior member of Biden's team told Walla!

NEWS that throughout his public career the president-elect has been one of Israel's biggest supporters.

"Biden, the Vice President-elect and their advisers believe that relations between our two countries are rooted in strategic interests and common values and must remain deep and transcend internal political issues," the senior official said. "The Biden-Harris administration will not only strengthen Israel-US relations but also ensure they We have bipartisan support. "

The concern in Netanyahu's environment stems from Kerry and Rice's critical approach to Israeli government policy and the policy they pursued during the Obama era on the most important issue for Netanyahu - the Iranian nuclear program.

When Kerry served as United States Secretary of State, relations between him and Netanyahu were very tense - especially due to disagreements over the Iranian issue, but also around the Palestinian issue.

As a national security adviser, Rice saw Ambassador Drummer as a political activist in the Republican Party and once joked that she did not meet him because he was too busy traveling to the events of casino mogul Sheldon Adelson in Las Vegas.

Most of Biden's foreign policy advisers have previously served in the Obama administration and some, like Sherman, have been involved in concluding a nuclear deal with Iran.

While Netanyahu's people are concerned about the cases and Rice, they have fewer worries about Biden's National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken.

Sullivan said on Sunday in an interview with CNN that the incoming president intends to return to the nuclear deal if Iran returns to fully implement it.

According to Sullivan, at the next stage the United States will want to enter into negotiations with Iran on another and broader agreement. This position puts Biden on the path of confrontation with Netanyahu - who opposes a return to the 2015 nuclear deal.

The reality that Biden will receive is becoming increasingly complex in recent days.

Iran announced on Monday that it had resumed enriched uranium production to a level of 20%.

The regime in Tehran is even threatening to expel some UN inspectors operating at its nuclear sites. Yesterday, Minister Tzahi Hanegbi said Israel should respond to the fact that Iran is accelerating its nuclear program with a military attack on Iranian nuclear facilities because "the world is sitting idly by."

Institute for policy and strategy at the Interdisciplinary center in Herzliya, headed by Major General Amos Gilad, published on Sunday a policy document calling on the Israeli government to enter into dialogue peace with the government Biden on Iran and avoid open confrontation that could harm Israel.

so far there were no official contacts between the government of Israel and the incoming administration Biden's and it is not clear who the Israeli factor will be responsible for conducting the dialogue with the White House on the Iranian issue. One name that came up in this context is that of Mossad chief Yossi Cohen
