Acting Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai today (Wednesday) ordered the transfer of the police officers who allowed the mass wedding in Beitar Illit to take place and will be removed from their positions, until the investigation is completed.
The wedding of the Rebbe's grandson of Avraham Yitzchak Chassidut was held in violation of Corona's guidelines, but police did not disperse the crowd or hand out reports for hours, ostensibly following a preliminary summary with the Chassidim. Chassidic
officials told Walla! "They knew in advance about the planning to hold the wedding on the spot and also agreed that if there was a photo, video or report coming out, they would come to show attendance, maybe even hand out fines - but at no point did they disperse the event."
