Tweeters and activists shared an image on social media today, which documented the moment a protester sat on the seat of the President of the US Senate, after he stormed with protesters and supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump.

And US media reported that protesters stormed the Senate hall, while the authorities closed the Capitol building after crowds protesting President-elect Joe Biden's victory at security barriers while the House was discussing official documentation of his victory over Trump.

For its part, AFP quoted US Representative Dan Kildy as saying that police officers in the House of Representatives brought up their weapons when supporters of President Trump tried to storm him, and the deputy from within the House said that the Security Council and the Capitol police had pointed their pistols while demonstrators knocked on the outside door of the hall.

"We were instructed to lie on the ground and put on the gas masks," he added.

In turn, CNN reported that the US police are dealing with reports of possible explosive devices in separate areas of Washington, DC, and Fox News reported that the US Capitol building had been evacuated after a bomb threat amid a protest by supporters of President Trump.

As a result, the police closed the Capitol Square completely, even to members who tried to enter the hall to attend the joint session of Congress.

It is noteworthy that the work of the Senate and the House of Representatives, which were discussing the objections to Biden's victory, was stopped suddenly and unexpectedly by the gathering of tens of thousands of Trump supporters around the building and storming it.
