The government this evening (Wednesday) approved the tight closure regulations, which will take effect tomorrow at midnight for two weeks.

As part of this, the activity of the education system will be completely stopped, with the exception of special education, and the activity of the economy will be reduced to only essential jobs.

The 1,000-meter limit will remain in place, but crowds will be further reduced to just five people indoors, and ten people in open space.

In addition, those who purchased tickets before the closure will be allowed to fly abroad during it. Those entering Israel from dangerous countries will be transferred to isolation in hotels, to prevent the further spread of the British or South African mutation. An individual permit will then be issued.

To the list of those exempted from the restrictions set were added lawyers, who can continue to go out for work that can not be replaced by digital means, as well as employees who are required to assist the Knesset Central Election Committee or the Knesset Regional Election Committee, for the upcoming elections.

They also amended the regulations in order to hold primary elections of parties running for the Knesset, even during the closure period, and to allow exceeding the restrictions on movement for candidates in the Knesset elections and employees or service providers on their behalf or on behalf of a party, in order to prepare for elections.
