Acting US Defense Secretary Christopher Miller condemned the storming of the Capitol by hundreds of supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump, pledging that the transition to President-elect Joe Biden would be smooth.
In statements published by the Pentagon today on his official Twitter account, Miller said that the violence witnessed by the Capitol is a tragedy that deserves to be reprehensible and contradicts the principles of the United States Constitution, adding that our republic faced the threat of destruction yesterday.
