The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, on Thursday urged US President Donald Trump to
"disavow false and dangerous speeches"
and considered that the irruption of his supporters on Capitol Hill showed the impact of
“incitement to violence and hatred”
.

"We are deeply disturbed by Wednesday's attack on Capitol Hill, which clearly demonstrated the destructive impact of a prolonged and deliberate distortion of the facts and of incitement to violence and hatred by politicians,"
said Michelle Bachelet said in a statement.
"Allegations of electoral fraud were made by trying to discredit the right to political participation
,
"
added the former Chilean president.

"We are heartened to see that the process has continued despite serious attempts to disrupt it,"
she said.
"We encourage politicians on all sides, including the President of the United States, to disavow false and dangerous rhetoric, and encourage their supporters to do the same

Michelle Bachelet also noted
"with dismay the serious threats and destruction of material with which journalists have been confronted"
.
"We support the many calls for a full investigation into Wednesday's events
," she said.
