In Tai Mo Shan, the highest in Hong Kong, the temperature once dropped to minus 2.2 degrees, which was the lowest since the beginning of winter.

From 12:00 midnight to 6:00 am, Tai Mo Shan fell below zero several times, at about 1:20 in the morning, at minus 0.3 degrees Celsius, and at about 2:50 in the morning, at minus 0.8 degrees Celsius.

Then the temperature rose slightly to a positive number, and at about 4:40 in the morning, the temperature fell again to a negative number, to minus 1.9 degrees; around 5 in the morning, it dropped to minus 2.2 degrees.



However, the dry environment and strong winds on high ground failed to form frosty conditions.

In addition to issuing cold weather warnings, the Observatory also issued yellow fire hazard warnings and strong monsoon signals.
