The future US President Joe Biden found clear words before the incidents around the US Capitol on Wednesday.

"Yesterday was, from my point of view, one of the darkest days in our nation's history," Biden said at the start of a press conference on the events in Washington.

The storming of the Capitol was an "attack" on the "Citadel of Freedom," according to Biden.

"What we saw yesterday was not a contradiction, there was no restlessness and no protest - that was chaos," said the Democrat.

"Don't you dare call them protesters," Biden said.

The crowd was an "angry mob" and the incident was "domestic terrorism".

“I wish we could say we couldn't see it coming.

But that's not true, we could see it coming, ”said the future president.

In the past few years, the current president has made his contempt for democracy, the US constitution and legality clear with each of his actions, said Biden without explicitly naming Trump.

The storm on the Capitol was only the culmination of these acts.
