Is the way now free for the “Free Artists Peißenberg”?

The association is now the only applicant for the re-use of the old youth center.

The "Frohsinn 2000" has said goodbye to the race.

The Faschingsgesellschaft sees its future in the planned “Active Center”.

Peißenberg

- Actually, it all came down to a showdown: After the "Free Artists Peißenberg" and "Frohsinn 2000" presented their concepts for the re-use of the old youth center (Juze) in the market council in November (we reported), it should after the corona-related failure At the December meeting, the final decision on the future of the dilapidated walls on St. Georgenweg will be made in January.

A political ordeal and division threatened.

But the great pressure has now been taken out of the kettle: Just before Christmas, “Frohsinn” withdrew its application.

This saves the council from making the difficult decision as to which lobby should be served.

“We would have loved to have had the old Juze”, explains “Frohsinn” board member Thomas Rößle when asked by the local newspaper.

With the planned “Active Center”, which is to be built next to the ice stadium and for which the municipality has already received a funding commitment of 900,000 euros, a “significantly better alternative” has opened up for the carnival club.

The center could offer the Tanzgarden a professional training facility, and urgently needed storage rooms could also be included in the new building: “That would be ideal and a dream - not only for our club,” says Rößle: “We would then have peace for the next 20 to 30 years . "

It was important for the “cheerfulness” to inform those responsible in the town hall and the local councils as early as possible about the change of plan or the abandonment of a possible use of the old Juzes: “Anything else would not have been fair,” emphasizes Rößle: “I'm always transparent and open.

We just need a good cooperation. "

While “Frohsinn 2000” focuses entirely on the active center, everything in terms of “Altes Juze” now comes down to the “free artists”.

Front man Moritz Hummig and his colleagues want to develop the building into a cultural meeting point for young bands and artists from other genres.

Even the critics in the market council will find it difficult to argue against the “free artists”.

First send two clubs into a competition and then, after one interested party withdraws, reject the remaining one, that would not be communicable to the outside world and embarrassing for the community.

However, there is still one sticking point: The association, which was founded in 2019, and Hummig, respectively, would like to buy the building after a transition period of five years.

Parts of the market council prefer a pure long-term lease solution and refer to the previous practice with other associations.

Market treasurer Michael Liedl speaks of a "legally secure contract variant" with regard to the long lease.

The town hall administration is also concerned with preventing possible conflict situations with the neighboring allotment garden.

However: The property on St. Georgenweg cannot be compared with other properties due to its location in the outside area, among other things: “You have to look at things differently,” said Liedl.
