Erding -

The regional job market was comparatively robust at the end of the year.

This is announced by the Freising Employment Agency and reports 9673 unemployed in the districts of Erding, Freising, Dachau and Ebersberg for December.

The quota remains unchanged compared to November at 2.6 percent.

In the Erding district there are currently 2,123 people without a job.

“At the beginning of winter we were already able to register a few unemployment reports from the weather-dependent industries.

In the external occupations, there was sometimes only limited work, ”explains agency boss Nikolaus Windisch.

In addition, the labor market has shown itself to be encouragingly receptive in the past few weeks.

1001 women and men from the four districts were able to find a new job.

That was 192 people more than in December 2019.

Important to know: The statistical counting day for the December data was December 10, 2020. That means: "The effects of the tightened measures to combat the corona pandemic (second lockdown) on the labor market that have been in force since December 16 are in the Numbers not yet shown, ”says Windisch.

The number of unemployed in the Erding district rose in December 2020 compared to the previous month by 47 people to 2,123 women and men.

This had no effect on the unemployment rate: In December, as in the previous month, it was 2.5 percent.

In December 2019 it was only 1.7 percent.

The values are similar in all four districts: In Ebersberg the rate is 2.4, in Freising and Dachau 2.7 percent.

In December, the Erdingen company reported 113 new job offers to the employer service, 67 fewer than in November.

This means that 638 jobs reported at the Erding employment agency were vacant in December.

Windisch also looks back on the development of short-time work in the district.

At the beginning of the pandemic last March, 450 companies actually had short working hours.

Around 4,900 women and men were affected.

The number of short-time workers reached a temporary high during the first lockdown in April.

At that time, 876 companies actually had short-time working.

A total of 11,872 employees were affected.

In summer there were still 8,833 employees in 530 companies.

Calculated over the entire year, there were an average of 2082 men and women looking for a new job in the Erding district in 2020, 588 more than in 2019, according to Windisch.

This corresponds to an increase of almost 40 percent.

The unemployment rate averaged 2.5 percent in 2020; in 2019 it was only 1.8 percent.

The demand for staff also collapsed in the Corona year: from January to December, the employers in the region reported 1808 vacancies to the employment agency, compared to 2,484 in 2019.

This corresponds to a decrease of around 27.2 percent.
