(CNN Spanish) -

To tell the truth, I think that some of President Donald Trump's policies were correct, such as in tax and economic matters.

In foreign policy, I defended the background of some measures, such as the exit from the nuclear agreement with Iran, signed in 2015, by which France, the United Kingdom, Russia, China, Germany, the European Union and the United States tried to control the proliferation of weapons Iran's nuclear weapons, even though good intentions were, in my judgment, disappointed.

I also consider that "the Abrahamic Accords" have been a success as well.

Obviously, there was always widespread concern about Trump's style and personality, but it was a true political phenomenon because of the results obtained in the 2016 elections that led him to the presidency ( although he did not win the popular vote) and also for those of the latter, who although he lost, managed to attract approximately half of the voters.

Now, in recent months, Donald Trump has shown that his lack of political culture and the fact of having been an “outsider” have played against him.

The fact that the president has refused to accept his defeat and that it hinders the transition process is truly unacceptable.

His undemocratic behavior breaks with the history of that country.

The events that took place in Washington this Wednesday, January 6, where an angry mob - encouraged by President Trump's speeches and messages - violently stormed the US Congress, are unforgivable.

These events create a dire precedent and stain America's democratic tradition.

The surreal scenes that have been around the world do not correspond to the first power on the planet.

I wonder: how morally can the United States now demand that countries ruled by tyrants and dictators conform to morality?

Trump ends up committing suicide politically and takes through the middle not only honorable people, who collaborated with him very closely, but - in my opinion - he also destroys the Republican Party.

It was not the coronavirus that killed Trump;

it has been he himself, with his narcissistic attitude, who has lost the elections and also the Senate, which could perfectly have stayed in the hands of the Republicans.

President Joe Biden will now have a new task and I believe that it will be the most difficult challenge of his mandate: to put order at home, smooth the rough edges in a society induced to division through hatred and seek to restore its international image in the face of this true embarrassment.

I believe that ending the Trump term through impeachment, as some parties have suggested and despite the reasons that abound, would open even more the democratic fissure that, from now on, that great nation carries on its shoulders.

Mr. Trump: I have no way to defend him;

you end up like the song: "poor, sick and lonely."
