The Algerian army seizes and destroys caches of weapons and ammunition in the east of the country

The Algerian Ministry of Defense announced today the discovery and destruction of caches of weapons, ammunition and explosive equipment in the eastern state of Tizi Ouzou.

The Algerian News Agency quoted the Ministry of Defense as saying in a statement that in the context of the fight against terrorism and thanks to information obtained after the arrest of one of the terrorists, detachments of the People's National Army had seized weapons and ammunition caches in Tizi Ouzou province.

The statement added that the caches contain a Strela anti-aircraft missile system, a 60 mm mortar, 4 Kalashnikov machine guns, 10 mortar shells and 4 RPGs.

The Algerian forces arrested the wanted terrorist, Rizkan Hassan, on the 16th of last month, near the El-Element municipality in Jijel.
