The director of the courts, Judge Yigal Marzel, announced today (Thursday) that during the closure, the courts will remain open, but will work to postpone unnecessary hearings.
Among the types of hearings that will be postponed, the director of the courts noted "such as: traffic cases, small claims, local matters, hearing of evidence (evidence) and 'hot days' in the courts."
In addition, the judges were instructed to show consideration for the parties or attorneys who would seek to adjourn hearings during this period due to circumstances arising from dealing with the corona.
The directive, according to the announcement, comes from the opinion of the President of the Supreme Court, Esther Hayut, the head of the Bar Association, Avi Chimi, and the Deputy Minister of Justice, Benny Ganz.
It will take effect this coming Sunday, until January 21st.
