Participants in the Agricultural Development Forum in Kenitra demanded support for rural women projects, creating markets for the disposal of agricultural products, establishing facilities for the manufacture of milk and cheese, and securing the requirements for increasing cultivated areas, especially with wheat crops.

Participants in the forum held under the title "Challenges and Opportunities" called for increasing the land reclamation plan in the governorate, expanding the construction and paving of agricultural roads to facilitate farmers' access to their lands, and granting long and medium-term agricultural loans with symbolic benefits to support farmers to buy agricultural tractors and herds of livestock.

Participants in the forum and those concerned with the agricultural sector indicated the necessity of providing agricultural production requirements of seeds, fuels and fertilizers on time to invest them as required and compensate farmers whose lands and agricultural crops have been damaged by terrorism.

The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Muhammad Hassan Qatana, stated that the government continues to support the agricultural sector to increase production and secure local needs, explaining the importance of making use of every piece of land that can be invested and cultivating agricultural crops and focusing on the strategic wheat crop.

Engineer Qatana pointed to the need to develop a realistic plan of action aimed at developing and improving the agricultural reality in both its plant and animal parts, increasing production and investing the available resources, indicating that the Ministry is currently preparing a study to accurately count livestock in order to achieve a fair redistribution of the feed standard.

He pointed out that the tendency is to distribute fuel to grow wheat as a priority, and then the rest of the agricultural crops until next June, to enable farmers to plant their crops. He also indicated support for poultry farmers and ensuring that no breeder leaves the labor market.

On the sidelines of the forum, the Minister of Agriculture inspected the investment operations of the October 6 farm in the city of Quneitra, which was cultivated with more than 1,600 dunums of wheat and other crops, and participated in an afforestation campaign in the Ain Al-Hamra site in the vicinity of Al-Baath city.

The Governor of Quneitra, Abdel Halim Khalil, participated in the forum and tour, and those concerned with agricultural affairs and a number of investors.
