A number of White House advisers resigned from their posts today, after some supporters of the outgoing US President Donald Trump stormed the US Congress building.
Reuters quoted a senior US administration official as saying that both Deputy National Security Adviser Matt Pottinger and Director of European and Russian Affairs in the US National Security Council, Ryan, resigned from their posts in protest of the storming of the Capitol.
The former White House chief of staff and the current special envoy to Northern Ireland Mick Mulvaney announced earlier his resignation from his post for the same reason.
Trump's supporters stormed the Congress building yesterday at his instigation, and the violence witnessed by the "Capitol" killed four people and arrested 52 others.
