"Global security": several events planned for this Saturday throughout France

Fewer than usual, these Freedom March, which demand the total withdrawal of the "Global Security" law and its article 24, will take place across the country.


The return to school also marks the return of the demonstrations.

This Saturday, January 7, several Freedom marches and rallies of yellow vests are planned in France, in a smaller proportion than what had been observed at the end of November and early December 2020.

These movements demand in particular the total withdrawal of the “

Global Security

” law

and its controversial article 24, which penalizes the malicious dissemination of images of police officers, but also articles 21 and 22 on the use of pedestrian cameras and drones by the police.

The “

new national law enforcement plan

” (SNMO), which would limit media coverage of the demonstrations, is also targeted.

Walks are thus planned in Strasbourg, Lille, Nîmes, Caen, Toulon, Guéret, Rouen, Avignon, Poitiers, or even Quimperlé.

A demonstration of yellow vests was also announced in Lyon at the beginning of the afternoon, which should end at the Palais de Justice via Place Bellecour.

These protests were not instigated by the # StopLoiSecurityGlobale coordination, present during the white march in memory of Cédric Chouviat.

The collective preferred to reserve for Saturday, January 16, which promises to be more massive.

In Marseille and Brest, the organizers have postponed their events scheduled for the 9th.
