Yannick Bestaven (Maître Coq IV) was still in the lead of the Vendée Globe in Friday noon's score as he sailed up the South Atlantic off the Argentinian coast and approached Brazil.
The skipper, who should sail along the Brazilian coast from Saturday, is almost 400 nautical miles (740 km) ahead of Charlie Dalin (Apivia).
A gap that has narrowed slightly but remains very comfortable.
Dalin is still followed very closely by Thomas Rettant (LinkedOut) and Damien Seguin (Apicil).
The winner of this ninth edition, which is in his last quarter, is not expected before the end of the month in Les Sables d'Olonne (Vendée).
