A 30-year-old driver was shot last night (Friday) during a police chase and fatally injured.

This, after he allegedly ran over a policeman who ordered him to stop in Haifa.

MDA staff provided him with primary care and transferred him to Rambam Hospital in the city.

Also, a police officer who was lightly injured in the incident is also seeking treatment at the hospital.

DIP opened an investigation into the case.



The incident occurred in the area at 02:00, when police ordered the vehicle to stop and he did not respond, ran over the policeman who was injured in the leg and fled the scene. Police opened searches for the vehicle in the area and managed to locate it after some time. They fired at him but he managed to escape, however, police later learned that the suspect was being taken to hospital.
